It’s a Mad, Mad World!

So plans for next week?

1. Get divorced.
2. Throw The Laddie out on the street.

Why? Because that seems to be the only way that decent ordinary folk can get any kind of help from this fucking ignorant government.

The Laddie left school recently and we took him to “CareersScotland” to see if there was any work for him before he goes away to college at the end of the Summer. Needless to say they had nothing for him and when we asked if he was eligible for any benefits we were told; “No, not till he’s 18″. Fair enough, but then the “adviser” said that if we threw him out he’d get immediate accommodation and an allowance every week!!

It would be funny if it wasn’t so ridiculous.

As for the divorce. Well, The Lassie is struggling at University due to the cost of trying to live away from home. She’s got a job and works really hard but again we’re not eligible for any assistance other than a part student loan as apparently I earn too much! I wish! — I actually earn around the average for Scotland so I can only conclude that we’re not alone.

She has friends at Uni who’s parents never married so their step-father’s income isn’t taken into account and they get bursaries and a full student loan.

I have to live away from home during the week so that I can work but my double home expenses and fucking Council Tax (whoopee a full 10% discount on the second bill) is not taken into account.

Pity I wasn’t an MP as then I would be able to claim the full cost of a second home — and even then the greedy bastards try to make a profit from it.

So I’m kicking The Laddie out and The Wife will have to fend for herself from next week.
