Jesus hates Starbucks!

Rants June 1st, 2008

Well the God-bothering Holy Willies are at it again!

Apparently the new Starbucks logo is so offensive that one group of nutters are calling for a boycott of the chain.

The problem? The logo shows a ‘bare-breasted’ mermaid who looks like a prostitute with her legs spread!

Starbucks Coffee

Fucking hell! It’s a 16th century Norse drawing of a two-tailed mermaid - so it doesn’t even have fucking legs!

It seems to me that the ‘religious’ are the most sex-obsessed of all. They always seem to be banging (sorry) on about sex and morality but at the same time producing kids (for God) at an industrial rate.

Marrying multiple child-brides seems to be OK for some of these cults and abuse by ministers and priests is quietly swept under the carpet as we have seen time after time.

We have a world full of pain and suffering yet the Great and the Good are getting hot under the collar over a logo for a fucking coffee shop!

I think that tells us all we need to know about the ‘Moral Majority’ as they like to badge themselves.

Personally I’m a bit disappointed that there are no nipples on show!

“The Starbucks logo has a naked woman on it with her legs spread like a
prostitute,” said Mark Dice, the group’s founder. “Need I say more? The
company might as well call itself Slutbucks.”

Religion…What is it good for?

Musings March 10th, 2007

I’ve just been watching the pantomime that is the Northern Ireland Election. This isn’t about politics but religion - Catholics vote one way and Protestants the other.

It got me thinking - what is the point of religion? It just seems to bring grief and pain all over the world and all through history…

Symbols of hate?

WWII, Bosnia, Iraq, Ireland, Nepal…Sunni killing Shia, Shia killing Sunni, Protestant killing Catholic, Catholic killing Protestant. Repression, hate, discrimination…what is the point of it all?

On top of all this we have the hypocrisy that seems to be common to them all.

So for God’s sake can we all try to get along?

Schadenfreude Anyone?

Musings November 6th, 2006

Well, I think you know my stance on “God-Botherers” and here we go again with another case of gross hypocrisy from one of the most powerful of them all.

While campaigning against same-sex “marriage” (which I also disagree with by the way) he was gaily (sorry) hiring male prostitutes and using methamphetamine to enhance his pleasure.

These guys are seriously dangerous simply because they’re so close to the seat of power in the US and probably as responsible as morons like Bush for the sad state of the World today.

OOOooo you are awful!

This along with the crisis in the Catholic Church where priests have been caught out in considerable numbers for their sleazy child abuse.

The fact is that humans are sexual creatures (we would have died out a long time ago if we weren’t!) and denying it is just ridiculous.

So, sorry for the gloat but these hypocrites deserve everything they get.

Veils, Crosses and God

Rants October 28th, 2006

I getting very tired of the bullshit being spouted by all the various god-botherers.

Should Muslim women have to wear the veil, should Christians be allowed to wear the cross at work, faith schools… and on and on…

Personally I think religion should have no place in any public policy so right away I’d remove all funding from divisive so-called faith schools.

ALL children in our society should have the same education and religious education should be an extra curricular activity paid for by the adherents. I don’t see why my taxes should be spent on education for people who choose to have an organised religion.

Damn you all!

As for the clothing thing - well I don’t believe in “uniforms” and forcing people to wear what they don’t want to. For years I fought with my kids’ school over uniform. They never wore it and were constantly in trouble as a result, even though they were both “A” students and never behaved in an anti-social manner. No-one has ever been able to explain the benefits of school uniform, other than spout shite about it reducing bullying - how exactly does that work then?

I support a completely secular society and if you want to “worship” something then feel free but don’t expect me to have to pay for it.

I don’t really care what people choose to wear, it’s a personal choice, but I certainly don’t support people being forced to wear clothes they don’t want to. So if a woman chooses to wear a veil and is in no way forced to then that’s fine by me.

I don’t subscribe to the view that we need to see peoples’ faces for security reasons. I don’t feel very comfortable in a society that feels the need to video my every move.

Likewise, if a Christian wants to wear a cross it’s no problem to me - why should it be?
